Dalt Vila is the upper, walled part of Ibiza Town: a maze of stone streets, slopes, small squares and viewpoints overlooking the port. What really sets it apart from other Mediterranean old towns is that here there isn’t just “history” — the Renaissance walls are the true main character.
From the 16th century onwards, the city was reinforced with new fortifications to protect a strategic Mediterranean route between the Iberian Peninsula and Italy.
