How to find more peace and quiet in July and August
Start the day earlier. In small coves, the first part of the morning allows you to enjoy their scale much more comfortably and reduces pressure on space and parking.
Do not cross the island looking for an empty cove. Choose the north, east or west and stay in that area. Spending hours on the road often makes the relaxed kind of day you are looking for more difficult to enjoy.
Do not confuse difficult access with a lack of crowds. Many spots that once went unnoticed are now widely known.
Have a nearby alternative. If the atmosphere is not what you were looking for when you arrive, it is more practical to switch to another beach in the same area than to make a long journey elsewhere.
Check the wind and sea conditions. A beach may be quiet in terms of atmosphere but not offer the swimming conditions you expected that day.
